Quayle Residence

Quayle Residence is located on a steeply sloping site at the picturesque Wilson’s Bay just outside of Queenstown. The design challenge was to take advantage of the incredible lake views to the south whilst allowing the sun to penetrate as many rooms as possible. The garage and guest bedrooms form the foundation to the upper level which houses the living areas and master bedroom.

Three years on after moving in, we still love living in the spaces created and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a home with a difference.

A mono pitch roof with high glass opens the house to the sun, and floor to ceiling double glazing makes the most of the lake views. The basement level features heavy schist stone cladding while the upper level is more light weight and uses low maintenance alucobond cladding.

Exceptional buildings are the result of an effective collaboration between The Builder, The Client, and The Designer, with each playing their own significant role in the build process.

The deck wraps around the house widening at the west to become an outdoor room, featuring louvered roof, outdoor fireplace and barbeque.
